RE: Ethanol in fuel?

Ethanol is required in ks and mo. It doesn't cause a problem in my car, but causes vapor lock in my boat.

RE: Digital thermostat, must be able to control A/C heat strip

I have gone over most of the posts about the conversion to digital a thermostat and would like to try it. I can understand the need for possibly a second switch on some of the units to control the low/hi speed fan but how would I add the control of a heat strip installed within the A/C unit?
We prefer the heatstrip to using the conventional heater, for what ever reason the air flow movement is better and of course we save on propane.
Thanks
Ron W.
here's a link to a setup that would likely do the job for you. two stage digital stat.

RE: plug in volt meter

... But is a lower voltage reading telling me I'm using too much power or that the shore power to my rig too low?
The meter does not read power, only voltage. if the voltage gets too low, it could be because something on the same circuit as the outlet your plugged into is drawing a lot of current, causing a voltage drop, or, more likely, the campground voltage is low. Best way to tell is to measure the voltage directly at the pedestal.

RE: Towing with our 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD (turbodiesel)

With fuel prices going up at about a $1/gal/year, it may not be long before we're all pulling will small vehicles! What kind of fuel mileage does your Liberty get towing?

RE: What causes the black cloud of death? UPDATE 6/29

Wolley has the answer. Ford now has a procedure to clean the turbo when this happens. It happened to me, and the cleaning cured the problem.

RE: Fan out of balance?

You probably need a blade balancing kit. Here's one way to balance the fan. http://www.rd.com/familyhandyman/content/19664/

RE: Door Seal

If you decide to re-glue it, try 3M weatherstrip adhesive.

RE: Tire wear

If you cut a right turn too sharp, which axle/tire is gonna hit the curb, or fall in the ditch? Right, it's the Right Rear. Chances are you've bent the axle enough to cause the excessive wear.

RE: Help Needed PLease

From the Dometic website: deposits from hard water can build up under the edge of
the rubber bowl seal, resulting in a slow leakdown of
water from the bowl. To prevent this mineral build-up,
periodically clean under the bowl seal with SeaLand
Bowl and Seal Cleaner (Fig. B).
1. Shut off water supply.
2. Apply cleaner onto the seal cleaning tool (supplied with new toilet), open the flush ball by
pressing on flush lever, and scrub under the seal. Make sure to push bristles between
bottom of seal and top of flush ball surface to scrub all parts of seal that come into contact
with flush ball.
3. Close ball and wait 2-3 minutes.
4. Open flush ball. Use brush and water to rinse away cleanser and loosened deposits.

RE: Tripping breaker on 12 volt system

Get the water out of the equation by disconnecting the heating element. If everything else works then, replace the heating element.

RE: Diesel fuel stops

It is always a good idea to send whoever is not driving out to check out the pumps 08 PSD's will handle a 20 Gal per min fuel flow so the high flow nozzles are not usually a problem..However as above..you need to check things out. You need to learn how to work the Slave pump,...
Can you tell us how to work the slave pump? I've noticed the slave pumps, but I don't have a clue how to use them. I will use the truck pumps, because they are so much easier to get in and out of.

RE: Awning tube snapped in half !

We lost an awning that way. We had it tilted, and roped down. But the torrential downpour that occurred while we were away was just too much for it, even with the tilt.

RE: Electric water heater blowing the breaker (update)

they probably pinched a wire when working on the gas components. do a visual inspection of the heater looking for wires pinched under a screw, plate, or bracket. Then disconnect the element and see if the breaker still blows. if it does, there's still a wire pinched somewhere. If not, replace the heating element. You can usually get a replacement element at a good hardware store.

Two accessories I recommend: Fifth Wheel Lube Plate and a BedSaver.
Thanks, I intend to get both. I'm looking for the best place to buy a bedsaver.
